Summary
One of the aspects I appreciate about England is its rich diversity. From the quaint coves on the Dorset Coast to charming hamlets and a historical depth that spans millennia, this nation is abundant with some of the best attractions to explore.
It should be noted that my perspective may be subjective, as I take considerable pride in the natural beauty of England. I firmly believe that England offers far more than just iconic metropolitan areas such as London.
Indeed, while these urban centers are remarkable (my admiration for London rivals that of any city worldwide), they represent merely a fragment of our wonderfully diverse nation, which gazes beyond its urban confines.
In recent years, I have prioritized venturing further into England and discovering attractions that lie just beyond my doorstep, a journey I regretted delaying for far too long. I previously operated under the misconception that I had to leave the UK to experience genuine travel, but I have since realized my error.
Nevertheless, better late than never! Whether you are embarking on your inaugural journey around England or are already well-versed in exploring this breathtaking nation, I am confident you will find a selection of the best places to visit in England that you will cherish.
Explore some of the finest locations to visit in England; you will have an unforgettable experience.
1.) Lake District
The Lake District represents the UK’s most recent UNESCO-protected site, a designation that is entirely deserved due to its breathtaking beauty.
As implied by its name, the Lake District boasts serene lakes, majestic mountain ranges, and numerous charming villages awaiting exploration.
The diverse character of each lake is what makes the Lake District so captivating. Windermere Lake may be the most recognized, yet for those wishing to bypass the crowds, consider visiting Ullswater Lake, and potentially enjoy accommodation at Another Place, The Lake, which is associated with the Watergate Bay establishment referenced in Cornwall.
While at Lake District, consider taking a ride on the Ullswater steamer, attempting paddleboarding, and hiking to the summit of Harter Fell which showcases some of the most spectacular views in the area.
This region truly ranks among the best sites to explore in England, particularly if you can participate in a tour encompassing ten of the lakes.
We particularly enjoyed a tour of the Lake District, given that it is a one-day experience, ideal for short weekend stays.

2.) Corfe Castle
Corfe Castle stands as one of the oldest sites I have encountered in England, where communities have thrived for over 8,000 years.
The atmosphere here is truly emblematic of a bygone era, making you feel as though you have stepped back into a historical Olde English realm. This sensation is palpable throughout the area.
As you explore, take time to wander through the remnants of Corfe Castle, browse the numerous boutiques, and enjoy a delightful Sunday roast at Mortons House Restaurant.
