My First Camera Experience

My initial encounter with a Lumix camera was quite serendipitous. It was a gift I received during the spring of 2014, right before embarking on my journey with GoTravelDaily. To be candid, I had never used or even considered a Lumix before this, nor was I aware of the concept of ‘mirrorless cameras’. Given my enthusiasm for technology, I eagerly familiarized myself with it.

After just a few photo sessions, I became captivated by the camera’s capabilities. The images produced were remarkably high quality, and though I took pleasure in attributing some credit to myself, I was well aware that the camera was the primary contributor to the superb results. The model I had was the Lumix GX7 equipped with a 20mm F1.7 lens, and it quickly became one of the most treasured gifts I had received. To this day, it remains in frequent use.

Upgrading to Lumix GX8

In September 2016, prior to a trip to Peru, I decided to upgrade from my previous video camera, which failed to meet my expectations, to a model that would effectively capture the exciting scenery. After several days of extensive research, which included numerous YouTube reviews, I opted for the Lumix GX8, which supported 4K video recording and offered various additional features. Upon reviewing the first video I recorded with the GX8, I immediately recognized the soundness of my decision. The 4K video quality proved to be exceptional and even enabled me to extract stills from the footage, ideal for capturing swift subjects.

Exciting News

Upon returning from Peru, we were pleasantly surprised to receive an email from the Panasonic team expressing their admiration for our photography and inviting us to become ambassadors for the Lumix cameras. My immediate response was a resounding affirmative. It was a delightful coincidence that I already possessed two Lumix models, making this collaboration an ideal fit. Moreover, we were provided with a Lumix GX80 to take with us on our travels. Having experience with Lumix cameras facilitated a seamless transition to using this new model.

The GX80 proved highly efficient for both video and photography during our skiing trips due to its excellent stabilization features and lightweight design.
