A Memorable Evening in Cape Town
Cape Town is a vibrant city, bursting with energy and experiences. During our recent visit, we embarked on an exceptional evening at a local establishment renowned for its atmosphere and cocktail selection. Guided by our hotel hosts’ recommendations, we opted to leave our DSLR behind and rely solely on my iPhone for captures, which regrettably were not as effective in low light.
How We Discovered It
While I take no personal credit for discovering this fabulous spot, we benefited from local guidance. At the hotel, we met Dennis (from the Netherlands) and Arizona (a local) who passionately recommended Grand Cafe & Beach. They had already secured a reservation and insisted we accompany them. I am always eager to join for good food and drinks!

Upon arrival, the venue appears as a large, rustic structure, yet stepping inside reveals an elegantly designed space curated with sophistication. After a relaxing afternoon by the pool and a brief nap induced by complimentary champagne, my companions and I decided to dress up and head to dinner.
Our Experience
Moments after being seated, we indulged in an array of cocktails, each more delightful than the last. They truly excel in their cocktail offerings, prominently being one of the venue’s main attractions at very reasonable prices.
On ordering our meals, we ventured outdoors to explore more of the ambiance at Grand Beach, cocktails in hand, and the atmosphere quickly became intoxicating. The evening flew by as we found ourselves lost in conversations and laughter, the time slipping away until we realized we were among the last patrons remaining.
Despite our intent to return to the hotel, we opted for a detour toward Long Street, known as the nightlife hub of Cape Town. The evening concluded with exciting adventures in this vibrant area, a fitting closure to an extraordinary dining experience.
