Quick Summary:
Exploring The Beautiful Town Of Cascais, Portugal
I had long been captivated by the notion of visiting Sintra. The imagery portrayed it as a magical destination, prompting us to arrange flights a couple of months after this fascination began and embark on a journey to Portugal.
In contrast, Cascais did not receive as much attention prior to this trip, but once it was mentioned, I resolved to incorporate it into our itinerary.
Cascais, Sintra, and Lisbon together form a somewhat iconic trio in Portugal.
Located within roughly a 30-minute drive from one another, with excellent transportation links, I remain puzzled as to why we neglected to experience all three destinations on our initial visit to Lisbon. However, I suspect that traveling with a lively group of 10 friends alongside an abundance of caipirinhas may have played a role!
Upon our arrival in Lisbon in the early evening, we retrieved our rental car and journeyed towards Sintra, where we would reside at the exquisite Penha Longa for the next few days.
Penha Longa is indeed remarkable!
This impressive golf resort attracts discerning visitors from around the globe. During the booking process, I was unaware of its reputation, only recognizing its aesthetic appeal upon our arrival and discovering the facilities, including a stunning rooftop infinity pool.
Regrettably, I now wish that I had allocated additional time to luxuriate within the hotel rather than solely immerse myself in exploration of the beautiful Portuguese countryside, although exciting adventures awaited us!
Unfortunately, due to this prior exploration, I do not possess numerous photographs of the hotel to share, as time was limited for comprehensive exploration. Upon our return, I intend to dedicate a full day to thoroughly indulge in all that it has to offer.
Our dining experience that evening was rather casual, as we opted for the hotel bar, yet the quality of the food was exceptional.
As someone who typically avoids ordering burgers due to a past overindulgence in bread, I was pleasantly surprised to discover an exception on this menu.
Complimenting our meal were delightful cocktails, perfectly matched to a relaxed evening following a day of travel.

As we reflect on our experiences, it is clear that a visit to Cascais is best approached leisurely, permitting oneself to meander through the town, indulging in ice cream breaks as necessary or simply enjoying moments on the beach.
