Summary
Living in London provides abundant opportunities to engage in captivating events such as this! Recently, we received an invitation from Pinterest to join the esteemed James Wong for an enjoyable evening focused on crafting and, crucially, savoring cocktails!
The event was immensely delightful! Initially, we learned about electric daisies, which resemble standard daisies but offer a unique tingling sensation when chewed that lingers considerably! This characteristic makes them an excellent choice for cocktails, albeit in moderation. Additionally, we encountered what is likely the smallest melon variety, the cucamelon. Although not confirmed as the world’s tiniest, they are remarkably petite yet refreshingly delightful in a cocktail.
We experienced a variety of cocktails, including those presented in takeaway Chinese food containers and even served in Wellington boots. They were tremendously inventive! Acknowledgments to Elliot from The Cocktail Trading Co for his remarkable mixology skills!
During the event, we were presented with a delightful goodie bag containing gardening tips to cultivate our own cocktail ingredients. I am particularly eager to cultivate those electric daisies to astonish everyone with their unique properties. The tingling sensation is curiously addictive, creating a desire for more as the evening progressed!
As the evening concluded, I realized I did not sufficiently plan to bring my camera. Fortunately, Pinterest curated an impressive array of photos on the official Pinterest blog and their Facebook page, allowing me to share their photographs to illustrate the fantastic night we experienced! Additionally, I had the opportunity to meet several wonderful individuals, including members of the Pinterest UK team, who are delightful people and perfect company for a cocktail night. Moreover, I had engaging discussions with James himself, who relayed his experiences living in Singapore before relocating to the UK. I encourage you to visit James’ Pinterest page for insightful gardening tips and techniques!
In closing, this event was not merely enjoyable; it was an extraordinary gathering imbued with interesting conversations and connections, all facilitated by delightful cocktails.
Lastly, here are the cocktail recipes we used during the event: The Cucamelon and The Electric Daisy. If you decide to replicate these recipes, I would love to hear your feedback and see photos of your creations!
