La Terraza-Bar, EME Catedral Mercer
The roof terrace bar at EME Catedral Mercer is the closest to the 500-year-old cathedral; it’s situated opposite the north side with its impressive flying buttresses. Choose from intimate or larger areas on various levels, the smallest of which seems within touching distance of the Gothic edifice. Cocktails start at €14. Puravida, Fontecruz Sevilla Seises
A beach-bar vibe pervades the spacious terrace at Fontecruz Sevilla Seises, featuring a rustic cane roof and upcycled furniture. Sit on jazzy pallet sofas for quieter moments or in the larger open space to enjoy flamenco performances on Sundays, with the Giralda as a spectacular backdrop. Winning the ‘best Giralda view’ award – located directly opposite the iconic tower – this is one of Seville’s longest-standing rooftop bars, positioned atop the old-school Hotel Doña María. Its wall paintings are captivating, but cannot compete with the breathtaking view of the Giralda at sunset, where the Moorish brickwork glows pink and orange. Cocktails include Luz de Sevilla (€11.50) and Tanqueray’s popular Flor de Sevilla gin. Open 1pm to 1am.
The Corner House
Hip hostel The Corner House in boho Alameda boasts a club-vibe wraparound terrace with moody decor overlooking the broad avenue adorned with classical statues and trees. Order a tangy Gabriela manzanilla sherry (€4.50) while immersing yourself in the alternative atmosphere of Seville. Heaters and blankets are available for comfort during colder months. Open 4pm to 9pm Sunday to Thursday, and until late Friday and Saturday.
Roof, Casa Romana
With a youthful ambiance and classical decor featuring azujelo ceramic tiles against cream walls, Roof at Hotel Casa Romana is another multi-level bar. The lounge features wall sofas with overhead sunshades, while upstairs areas are breezier on hot nights. La Terraza, Inglaterra
This is one of the city’s more sophisticated rooftop bars atop the 170-year-old Hotel Inglaterra on Plaza Nueva. Positioned on the sixth floor, its large space overlooks the tree-lined square, providing crystal-clear views of the Ayuntamiento and stunning sunsets. The extensive cocktail list, including Negroni and Sex on the Beach, all priced at €12, attracts a glamorous crowd. Expect excellent service paired with atmospheric illuminated tables, alongside chill-out tunes from DJs on Friday and Saturday evenings. Open 3pm to midnight, and to 2am on Friday and Saturday.
Level 5th, Ribera de Triana
Cross the river to the historic ceramics and sailors’ quarter, where the modern Ribera de Triana Hotel features a spacious corner terrace on its fifth floor. Revel in superb views of the Río Guadalquivir and the Triana Bridge, beautifully illuminated at night. This bar offers one of the city’s most extensive spirits menus, featuring nearly 40 rums and whiskies, plus 50 gins. For a Mediterranean twist, try the Mojiterraneo: Gin Mare with orange, lime, basil, and tonic (€9). Open 5pm to late.
Terraza Fulton, Palacio Alcázar
The rooftop of Hotel Palacio Alcázar houses the smallest of Seville’s terrace bars, offering just 14 tables for an intimate, romantic atmosphere. Oleanders and olive trees enhance the charm. This spot features some of the city’s most affordably priced rooftop cocktails (€7.50), with delicious cold meats and cheese tapas. Enjoy views of the Alcázar’s crenelated walls and towers, as well as the cathedral’s impressive dome. Open 8am to midnight.
La Fortissima Gastroterraza
For a more culinary experience, this rooftop terrace restaurant near the cathedral serves full meals rather than small plates, featuring tastings of local produce alongside lesser-known Montilla-Moriles wines (€4 a glass). The menu includes classic Sevillano dishes, like stewed oxtail, and innovative options such as Mozárabe cod with apples, raisins, and pinenuts (large plates €16-20). Don’t miss the stunning neo-Mudejar brick tower with vibrant tiles. Reservations are recommended on Saturday nights. Open 1pm to 4pm and 8pm to 11pm Mon-Thurs, 1pm to 11pm Friday through Sunday.
