Situated along the slopes of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles, the Griffith Observatory is an excellent location to delve into the wonders of the universe showcased at the facility.

Though the aroma of the sea lions may not be as pleasant, their presence adds to the charm of the location!

Mono Lake is an excellent location to pause for an hour or two—pack a picnic or simply unwind by the water’s edge.

However, do not attempt to drink this lake water, as its elevated salinity levels render it a unique and saline body of water.

No California expedition would be complete without experiencing a part of the legendary Route 66. This historic road travels west from the coastal region towards the borders of Arizona and Nevada.

Do not forget to keep an eye out for El Capitan and some of the other iconic formations while you’re within the park. A three-day stay would allow you to fully appreciate the myriad wonders of this enchanting location.

During the peak summer months, temperatures can soar between 45-50 degrees Celsius.

I remember a moment when the park ranger initially denied us entry to the park unless we purchased ample water for our vehicle.
