After equestrian activities amid the picturesque Faroese terrain, we returned to our accommodation to warm up.
Although the sun was shining, the brisk wind reminded us of the chill that only the thrill of excitement could momentarily alleviate. Reflecting on the experience, it was clear that the cold became apparent only after dismounting.
Warming up was also a justified reason to enjoy lunch. 🙂
Final Day Exploration
After concluding our lunch without any fixed plans, we decided to embark on a journey since it was our last full day and night in the Faroe Islands.
Scenic Viewpoint
Leaving Torshavn granted us multiple directions to explore, prompting us to take an alternative route past Kaldbaksbotnur village, where I was convinced I spotted a road leading up into the mountains.
As it turns out, I was correct!
Moreover, the view from this location was undeniably worth the journey, especially on such a beautiful day.
Dining at Etika
After our adventure at the viewpoint, we spent much of the afternoon traversing the islands, stopping whenever an intriguing sight caught our attention and occasionally taking leisurely strolls around the areas we visited.
Returning to Torshavn just in time for our dinner at the delightful Etika restaurant elevated our day.
Although a sushi restaurant on a European island may come across as unconventional initially, it is a sensible choice when considering the quality of the seafood captured directly from the ocean surrounding the Faroes.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, concluding our culinary experience with discussions about the fresh seafood options available at Etika further emphasized the incredible offerings from the islands, especially after a day filled with exploration.
After our dinner, we found it fitting to stroll around Torshavn to digest our delightful meal!
Ultimately, my experience in the Faroe Islands has left me yearning for additional adventures on the island. I am eager to return during the winter, witness the puffins, appreciate the vibrant summer grass, and experience the Northern Lights.
