Summary
Join us on a journey to discover where the last dragon lay… This was one of those unexpectedly delightful days! I had often passed by this charming village but had never explored it until today. In search of adventure, our group stumbled upon this quaint hidden gem.
Disclaimer: All photographs were captured using my iPhone. As mentioned, I was not adequately prepared. 🙂
Our first stop was the antique shop! We discovered this champagne box, which left me with numerous creative ideas on how to repurpose it…
…and I also found a vintage Torpedo typewriter, which I managed to purchase at a discount! (My Instagram followers are already aware of this find.)
Next, we visited the village market to gather some essentials!
We then continued our leisurely stroll around the village… Every sight here appeared simply idyllic!
There’s a certain charm to true British quaintness…
I indulged my sweet tooth with a caramel flapjack. While I have a penchant for sugar, I found it a challenge to consume the entire portion in one sitting! #SugarOverload
Ultimately, we uncovered the rumored location where ‘The Last Dragon’ was spotted! 🙂 😉 While the reference to dragons is playful, it captures my imagination to envision that centuries ago, dragons might have soared over the UK. To be completely candid, I had neither anticipated nor sought this out; it was a delightful surprise during our explorations.
We proceeded to explore the castle ruins…
To view the monument dedicated to the dragon…
This is no dragon but it is an adorable little creature…
I am enamored with this delightful little house…
And this charming ale house sporting a thatched roof. (My apologies for the rubbish bins in view!)
We discovered an iron smith’s workshop! It has reportedly been around for over a century, forgotten until it was recently restored and showcased with all its tools on display…
As we ventured onwards, we encountered one of the most picturesque waterfalls I have ever witnessed… A magnificent blend of vivid sky blues, rich forest greens combined with the soothing sounds of flowing water…
A rewarding afternoon, indeed! 🙂
