Summary
The following morning on Kuramathi commenced delightfully, characterized by ample sunshine and an extravagant breakfast spread.
Shortly thereafter, we embarked on what could be considered the relaxed approach to snorkeling – a glass-bottom boat. It was ideally suited for enjoying the rich marine life without having to swim immediately after an extensive breakfast.
*The glass-bottom boat offers a magnificent opportunity for visitors who may lack confidence in swimming to appreciate the aquatic wildlife comfortably.
Unfortunately, the visibility of the marine wildlife was limited, likely influenced by the supermoon; nonetheless, it presented a great opportunity to appreciate the intricate marine ecosystem at a leisurely pace.
Afterwards, we returned to our water villa to bask in the sunshine and unwind. This leisurely afternoon turned into an unexpected two-hour nap (thankfully, away from the sun), and by the time I awakened, I was particularly ready for lunch.
*It appears that napping generates considerable hunger! 😉
For lunch, we visited the Inguru restaurant, where I opted for a fresh salad, and we both conveniently chose what was fast becoming our lunchtime favorite: Maldivian curry.
Regrettably, I did not indulge in dessert! Looking back, I find it perplexing that I forwent sweet treats after such a lovely meal.
The remaining hours in the afternoon were dedicated to discovering the island and its extensive, picturesque sandbank.
As the day unfolded, we anticipated a snorkeling excursion near the house reef to observe the island’s turtles. However, the supermoon influenced the tide to recede significantly, rendering access to the ocean difficult. It is essential to avoid walking on or touching coral, as it takes a considerable amount of time to grow and can be damaged irreversibly.
Given the tide situation, we decided instead to visit the champagne bar and pool, where we leisurely spent the remainder of our evening until sunset. It was truly a lazy day, allowing us to pause from the relentless pace often associated with holiday activities, and simply recharge amidst the tranquil surroundings.
Our dinner was served later that evening, followed by an early rest—an idyllic conclusion to an extraordinarily relaxed day.
The subsequent morning involved a swift breakfast and a brief swim before we gathered our belongings and boarded our private transfer, setting off towards our next destination in the Maldives, while bidding farewell to Kuramathi as it began to fade into the horizon.
This experience was undoubtedly one of the most relaxing stays I’ve had, and I eagerly anticipate enjoying such bliss again. 😉
