Discover the Enchanting Fairytale Kingdom of Potsdam, Germany

The Enchanting Kingdom of Potsdam, Germany

Introduction

Following our first visit to Potsdam, which was both challenging and fulfilling, we were enthusiastic to explore this magnificent city further the next day. Our aim was to visit all the significant attractions this city has to offer.

Arrival in Potsdam

However, upon our arrival from Berlin, we encountered an exceedingly thick fog.

This did not raise any immediate concerns until we reached our first destination – the Glienicke Bridge.

Major Sights

Despite its reputation as a significant attraction in Potsdam, my initial interest in the bridge primarily stemmed from the breathtaking view of Babelsberg Palace across the water. Regrettably, upon our arrival, the fog obscured our view, concealing the palace’s beauty.

Our disappointment was palpable as we struggled to catch a glimpse of the palace through the persistent fog.

Yet, as we advanced towards our next destination, Marmorpalais, known as The Marble Palace, our initial discontent began to fade as enchantment took its place.

While wandering, I felt as if characters from classic stories, like Belle and the Beast, could materialize from the mist without surprising me.

Transportation in Potsdam

Instead of participating in a tour, we opted for a taxi to conveniently navigate the city’s attractions, enabling us to efficiently visit the sites of interest listed in advance.

The taxi fare amounted to approximately €50 for a two-hour scenic ride, providing an informative experience thanks to our knowledgeable driver, making it a more appealing choice compared to our previous day’s tour.
