Alternatively, take a stroll through the Bambousaie de la Roque-Gageac, a charming path that meanders through the bamboo forest surrounding the town. They also have a beautiful lunch spot within the bamboo at Bar de la Bambousaie, which is simply enchanting.

7.) Château de Beynac

Afterwards, continue a short drive south to visit the impressive Château de Castelnaud, another remarkable castle that is ideal for an afternoon of exploration. You might even witness the operation of a trebuchet, a large catapult used in medieval warfare.

9.) Monpazier

Situated between Bergerac and Sarlat, Monpazier is a visually appealing village in the Dordogne, making it an absolute delight for visitors.

Although Monpazier is relatively small, it is worthwhile to allocate a couple of hours over lunch to wander about. Be sure to discover the Place des Cornières, where you will find 23 charming stone houses and a delightful local market that operates seasonally.

10.) Martel

We had a wonderful experience exploring Martel during our road trip in the Dordogne Valley. The village is particularly well-suited for morning discoveries, ideally just prior to lunch.
