Explore Rovio: A Day at the Angry Birds Headquarters

The next morning, we got up bright and early (and thankfully hungover free) headed out to breakfast, swiftly followed by a whistle-stop tour of Helsinki after which we hopped into a taxi and headed to our next surprise destination… Rovio! The home of the Angry Birds.

The buildings slowly started to change as we drove out in the taxi, and traditional structures gradually made way for sleek, modern designs…

Finally, we arrived in Rovio! I could hardly believe it! As a fan of Angry Birds, this was a dream come true. We both are huge fans! The excitement was palpable, and trying to keep calm was quite the challenge.

Angry Birds were prominently featured throughout the office, which I thoroughly enjoyed! I was tempted to fill a massive bag with the plush toys scattered around…

We enjoyed a coffee in the relaxing area (which also serves as a barbecue spot in the summer) while meeting some new friends…

What a view for morning coffees, right?

Then I found something that got me really excited!!! The Angry Birds swing!!!

I had to kick the little piggy off it (Bye Felicia!) and have a go myself! Of course, I treated Stella (one of my favorites) to a ride with me…

Lloyd, on the other hand, made himself comfortable in a nest of piggies and angry birds…

Eventually, and quite reluctantly, we had to bid farewell to our newfound friends and move on to explore other parts of Angry Birds HQ!

Fortunately, we were distracted by the croissants available…

We learned much more about Rovio and discovered they do far more than just Angry Birds. They are an entertainment studio, producing everything from cartoons to games, and even impressive merchandise, amusement parks, and educational tools for children, including a blockbuster movie! Their team keeps busy creating innovative and entertaining content.

We even got a sneak peek at a virtual reality game currently under development, which was absolutely exhilarating!

This was our first experience with virtual reality gaming, and it was absolutely phenomenal! The immersion combined with the comedic sight of players interacting with an invisible world added to the fun.

Highlighting our time, we received goodie bags filled with candy, fun items, and our very own Angry Birds characters… (The surprise of who received the bird and who received the pig is revealed shortly…)

We took another photo op before leaving, capturing the memorable moments of our visit!

In the end, we entered the top-secret lab where all the magic happens. Unfortunately, no cameras were allowed here! Picture lots of angry birds and mischievous pigs running around!

Eventually, we exited through the gift shop…

It was time to head back to the Hotel Scandic Paasi, collect our belongings, and make our way back to London!
