Explore St. James Club: Your Dream Home in Antigua

I arrived in Antigua at around 5:30 PM, and after navigating through immigration, customs, and a taxi ride across the beautiful island, I finally arrived at what I would be calling home for the next week – St James Club.

By the time I checked in, it was too dark to capture any photos, and honestly, my thoughts were consumed with what to eat for dinner, so I have no pictures from that night. In all honesty, I didn’t even have a proper idea of what the resort looked like. I knew my room location (I scored an upgrade to a Royal Suite – Woohoo!!!!) and the path to the dining area. That was all.

I decided that my first full day (day 2) would be dedicated to relaxing and exploring the resort, and I did just that! Want to take a little tour around St James Club? Let’s kick things off with the view from my room…

I had a breathtaking view overlooking Mamora Bay, which serves as the perfect starting point for my exploration.

St James Club features two stunning beaches – one on the calm Caribbean side, ideal for little kids, and another on the Atlantic side with waves that embrace adventure.

The island is home to an abundance of fascinating birds. As a wildlife enthusiast, I thrilled to see species I’ve only encountered in zoos or on television, which made the experience exceptionally exciting! However, getting them to pose for a photo was quite a challenge!

In my exploration around the resort, I noticed how much the Antiguans love pastel colors. The island itself is naturally vibrant, and the colorful houses that dot the villages and towns offer a beautiful palette for visitors.

The sunsets here are renowned! In Antigua, sunsets are a visual treat and absolutely worth witnessing from an ideal viewpoint. Interestingly, the sun seems to set rapidly here – the skies glow orange for merely 15 to 30 minutes before plunging into darkness. This quick transition is quite appreciated since I tend to go from “Wow! How beautiful!” to “Okay, I’m bored now” rather swiftly.

The gazebos here are the ideal spots to enjoy the stunning sunsets. They have become my favorite lookout points!
