Leaving the beautiful city of Ronda, there was one place I knew we had to include in our travel plans, and that was The Alhambra.
For ages, I had been captivated by The Alhambra. When I realized we were close enough to drive there, it was a clear choice. The stunning photos clearly illustrate why this location is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site!
Our journey involved a long drive from Ronda, passing near the airport (which we would need later that evening) and onward to Granada.
Within an hour and a half of driving, we spotted the snow-capped Sierra Nevada mountains—a rarity in southern Spain.
Visiting the Alhambra requires advance planning, as ticket demand is high. Failing to secure tickets can lead to disappointment on the day of your visit.
Fortunately, we made it in time to purchase general entry tickets. Although we gained access to most areas, we missed the Nasrid Palace, giving us another reason to return for a future visit.
The Alhambra complex is vast, featuring numerous structures and beautiful gardens. Each visit allows you to explore as you please, although planning is essential for the Nasrid Palace due to the scheduled entry times.
Traveling through the Alhambra, we were amazed at its size and beauty. The intricate architectural details never ceased to fascinate us.
As we explored more, we couldn’t help but be thrilled by the breathtaking beauty that the Alhambra offers.
After visiting, it’s clear why the Alhambra is such a remarkable place filled with history and intricate design that tells the story of its era.
