Toronto is easily one of my favourite cities in the world and with good reason too! For starters, much as I’d typically avoid comparing cities, it’s reminiscent of the many reasons I love our home city of London, making you feel right at home as soon as you arrive.
There’s a myriad of different things to do in the city; it feels like there’s something for everyone here – no matter what your interests are. As a global city with people from diverse cultures, Toronto is a cultural melting pot!
Now, our last trip to Toronto was incredible, even if it was for only a few days (that’s all you need to fall in love with Toronto). On that trip, we also spent some time in the picturesque Niagara-on-the-Lake and the impressive Niagara Falls.
Flying for a Weekend in Toronto
On one of our first flights with WestJet from Calgary to London, the friendliness of the crew stood out to me, exceeding the standard Canadian hospitality. This atmosphere only heightened my excitement for our recent trip to Toronto with WestJet.
With WestJet’s newly launched Dreamliner service connecting London and Toronto, we embraced their Business Cabin featuring fully flat beds, spacious entertainment systems, and a diverse food and cocktail menu.
When we boarded, I quickly explored my private pod, reminiscent of the dream of being a pilot I had as a child (although color-blindness retold that story). The excitement to be among the first passengers on this flight was palpable!
Throughout the flight, the lie-flat seats along with lavender-spray blankets and pillows ensured a cozy experience. The onboard meals were a standout—starting with beetroot carpaccio and a succulent beef short rib, all capped off with a warm sticky toffee pudding. Not to mention, we sipped on ice wine from Peller Estates, a trip highlight from our previous Ontario visit.
For added luxury, each passenger received a Matt & Nat Vegan accessories bag made from recycled materials, including eye masks and organic skincare products, providing affordable pampering that rejuvenated post-flight.
