This is the big one!
This is probably the moment I was looking forward to the most once we planned our trip to Peru, and here it finally is! 🙂
THE VIDEO
After arriving at Machupicchu village the day before heading up to Machu Picchu, we learned that to get into Machu Picchu at 6 am—allowing us ample time to explore the citadel before starting our hike up Huayna Picchu at our designated time of 7 am—we would need to be at the bus stop an hour earlier, at 5 am. (*For your information, it was either take the bus or embark on a two-hour uphill hike. In high altitude, especially at that time of the morning? No, thank you!)
I initially grumbled about this until we were advised to arrive at least two hours earlier due to expected long queues.
“At 4 am? Impossible!” I thought. However, I was completely mistaken.
We showed up at 4 am (in pouring rain—I mean seriously, I hadn’t encountered rain this heavy in a long time), and the queue already extended beyond our sight. It took just under two hours before we finally set off in search of this magnificent ancient Inca city!
This is likely one of the videos I was most thrilled to share with you, so please do let us know what you think!!! 🙂
