Dino Snores at the Natural History Museum
Dino Snores is a monthly sleepover event for fortunate children aged 8 to 11 at the Natural History Museum. Participants embark on a torch-lit trail through the renowned Dinosaurs gallery and get to witness live animal shows during the evening and next morning. The highlight is sleeping in the Central Hall beside Dippy, the Diplodocus skeleton.
Good news for adults: Dino Snores for Grown-ups is also available! Participants can revel in having the Museum to themselves while enjoying a three-course meal, live music, a fun quiz, comedy shows, and more. Late-night activities include watching horror movies and indulging in a special midnight feast featuring edible insects.
Science Museum
The Science Museum sleepovers cater to children aged 7 to 13 years, making them perfect for birthday parties and school groups. Participants enjoy engaging hands-on workshops and thrilling science shows before settling down for bedtime. Additionally, participants can kick-start their morning with a trip to the 3D IMAX Cinema, ensuring an action-packed and unforgettable night.
British Museum
To experience a night at the British Museum, children need to become Young Friends of the Museum. Six sleepover events occur each year, offering a unique experience for youngsters aged 8 to 15. They will sleep in the Egyptian and Mesopotamian Galleries on the Ground floor, where engaging activities take place from 7 pm to midnight, allowing hours of after-hours exploration.
Golden Hinde
Families looking for a unique adventure can spend a night aboard the Golden Hinde, a full-size replica of the renowned ship sailed by Sir Francis Drake, who was the first Englishman to circumnavigate the world. Located on the South Bank, this overnight experience allows participants to dress as Tudor sailors and immerse themselves in maritime stories narrated by Sailor Jack and the Captain. Activities include gory tales and barber surgery before bedtime on the Gun Deck, followed by a Tudor dinner and breakfast before returning to solid ground by 9 am. This experience is available from March to October and is tailored for ages 6 to 11, with one adult required per group.
BedBUGS Sleepover – ZSL London Zoo
During the BedBUGS sleepover at London Zoo, children aged 8 to 11 can enjoy a night filled with fun. This event takes place in the BUG House from 7 pm to 10 am with a maximum of 75 participants. Guests are encouraged to bring a torch for nighttime exploration, sleeping next to fascinating critters while enjoying the wonders of the zoo after hours.
Hamleys Dream Sleepover
The Hamleys Dream Sleepover promises a magical night for children, providing an exclusive opportunity to experience the renowned toy store. Available on Saturday nights from 9 pm to 9 am, this coveted event welcomes lucky children aged 6 to 11. The experience begins with a grand arrival in a stretch limousine, where the little ones are greeted on the red carpet with sparkling orange juice.
After a VIP tour of the store, guests enjoy a Hamleys photo shoot, followed by an exciting sleepover supper, personalized cake, a trip to the sweet shop, and an adventurous treasure hunt. The festivities continue with a ‘Midnight at the Movies’ segment, complete with milk and cookies before bedtime.
