Initially, you need to reach the town of Chiquilá, where most boats depart for Isla Holbox. If you’re arranging this trip independently, ensure you board the Holbox Express. Boats typically operate every hour from around 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM. The boats are relatively fast and cost just over 200 pesos. Moreover, they accept cards, making the process easier.

The entire area is well-prepared for visitors, and it feels incredibly safe for casual strolls.
For some fantastic stops, visit Arte Sano for an appetizing breakfast, Roots for their renowned lobster pizza, and Viva Zapata for their grilled fish and fresh tacos. You will leave this vibrant area feeling wonderfully satisfied.

7.) Mantarraya Beach Club
If you’re in the mood for a beach club atmosphere while visiting Isla Holbox in Mexico, head over to Mantarraya Beach Club. Just don’t expect an extravagant Ibiza-like beach club experience; it’s more of a relaxed setting with plastic chairs and a stunning shoreline perfect for enjoying delicious food.
Their grilled fish is superb, and the salads are incredibly refreshing, especially on hot days.
As is typical for beachfront spots, there might be a ‘holding fee’ required to sit or lounge, but this usually goes towards your food bill.
It’s important to note that while many establishments in Isla Holbox accept cards, they often add a 5% fee for using them (or a similar amount). If this is an issue for you, make sure to have some pesos on hand.
