Over the past few weeks, we’ve been sharing our excitement on Instagram and Facebook about our partnership with Campo Viejo, champions of the “Summer Of Colour” campaign (hashtag #SummerOfColour).
While we had participated in several events in London, the highlight was a trip to Spain to immerse ourselves in the essence of Summer of Colour right in the heart of Rioja—a phenomenal wine region!
We left a chilly London for the sunny Logrono, the capital city of La Rioja, where the sun was shining brightly.
Upon arrival, we checked into our hotel, where to our delight, a couple of bottles of exquisite Rioja awaited us. After changing into lighter attire, we ventured into town for lunch.
Our meal was a spectacular display of Spanish cuisine, paired with delightful glasses of Rioja wine.
Well-fed and wined, we began exploring the sights of Logrono.
Surprisingly, Logrono is quite compact and can easily be explored on foot within a few hours.
We explored churches, art galleries, and meandered through charming streets before heading to a local ice cream shop to cool off in the warm sunny weather. This marked the end of siesta time as the locals began to emerge, preparing for a vibrant evening ahead.
As afternoon turned into evening, Logrono transformed into a lively atmosphere, bustling with families and friends enjoying the scenery and each other’s company.
When it comes to dining, the Spanish tradition of sharing meals shines through. We started with a deliciously fresh tuna salad before moving on to sample the famous local grilled garlic mushrooms and risotto.
We continued our culinary exploration with grilled peppers—a delightful surprise—and traditional Iberian ham.
With appetites well satisfied and Campo Viejo wine flowing at every establishment, we concluded our night feeling deeply content.
Looking forward to more wine experiences in La Rioja, we returned to the hotel, eager for what the next day would bring. 😄
