Explore the Chic A-Frame Cabins at New Glamping Resort in New York’s Catskills

1. Overview of Eastwind Oliverea Valley

On the heels of Eastwind Lake Placid, Eastwind Oliverea Valley will open in Big Indian, New York, on January 6, 2023. Following a wave of glamping and hotel options that emerged in New York’s Catskills earlier this year, Eastwind Oliverea Valley presents another exciting boutique hotel for a cozy winter getaway.

This property is a sibling to Eastwind Windham in nearby Windham, New York, which debuted in 2018, and Eastwind Lake Placid, which opened in August 2022. Furthermore, Eastwind Oliverea Valley represents the first time Eastwind Hotels is launching an entirely new construction, rather than taking over an existing building.

2. Culinary Experience at Dandelion Restaurant

Co-owner and co-founder Bjorn Boyer expressed, “As we’ve been part of the Catskills’ evolving landscape for nearly a decade, we aimed to include elements that our loyal guests and Catskills visitors crave: especially, elevated cuisine.” As part of this commitment, chef Daniel Cipriani has been brought on board to lead the all-day Dandelion Restaurant & Bar.

Daniel Cipriani, previously the owner of several Brooklyn restaurants, including Urban Rustic and Lodge, is eager to offer a ‘forage-to-table’ plant-forward, international comfort-food menu. Local ingredients will feature prominently, with dishes like seared local trout served with foraged ramp butter and crusty bread. In addition, guests can enjoy local beers and ciders, including Catskill Brewery’s IPA and Hudson North Cider Co.’s strawberry rhubarb cider, along with after-dinner s’mores kits.

3. Unique Accommodations and Design

Guests at Eastwind Oliverea Valley will relax in free-standing, wood-framed cabins. Each accommodation features green-tiled showers, botanical-motif wallpaper, Persian rugs, and luxurious Frette bed linens. To enhance the experience, guests will find pour-over coffee and in-room breakfast baskets, contributing to a leisurely and comforting stay.

The design of Eastwind Oliverea Valley prioritizes the natural beauty of the Catskills, incorporating large windows for ample natural light, high ceilings, and clean, minimalistic lines complemented by Earth tones and textures.

4. Seasonal Activities and Amenities

New offerings include the Double Lushna accommodations, which consist of two side-by-side, 360-square-foot cabins connected by a private deck—ideal for groups. The Fern Suite will showcase midcentury modern decor, including macramé wall hangings and an Eames-esque lounge chair set. Additionally, some cabins will be pet-friendly for travelers wishing to bring their furry companions.

During winter, guests can enjoy snowshoeing to nearby trailheads and warm up in one of two Scandinavian-style dry saunas. In the summer, an in-ground pool will be available (coming later in 2023), along with complimentary bicycle rentals and hammocks nestled within the scenic landscape.

Rates for staying at this unique Catskill getaway will start at $279 per night, making Eastwind Oliverea Valley an enticing option for winter escapes and seasonal adventures.
