How Voting Works
Every year, GoTravelDaily conducts the World’s Best Awards survey, where readers share their opinions on travel experiences globally. This year, nearly 165,000 readers participated, resulting in over 685,000 votes across more than 8,500 unique properties, such as hotels, resorts, and cruise lines.
Hotels were categorized based on their location and amenities, specifically rated according to:
- Rooms/facilities
- Location
- Service
- Food
- Value
Respondents rated these characteristics as excellent, above average, average, below average, or poor, and the final scores reflect the averages of these responses.
What Readers Loved
This year, readers favored resorts that are close to water, yet demonstrated a diverse mix of hotel styles—from historic boutique hotels to private oases in the Keys. Highlighted establishments ranged from a golfer’s paradise featuring a family-friendly waterpark to top-notch dining experiences.
Among the favorites were:
- The Ritz-Carlton Naples, Tiburón (No. 3) – Renowned for hosting pro tournaments and offering exceptional couple experiences.
- Ponte Vedra Inn & Club (No. 5) – Valued for its beautiful beachfront rooms offering immediate access to the beach.
- Marquesa Hotel (No. 2) – Situated in the Florida Keys, praised for its walkable distance to attractions without being overly touristy.
However, the most coveted honor for Florida’s favorite resort went to a unique hideaway that captivated the readers.
The Winner
Little Palm Island Resort & Spa: Little Torch Key, Florida
This adults-only haven is located on a private four-acre islet accessible only by seaplane or the resort’s private boat. Recently rebuilt after Hurricane Irma, the property features 30 luxurious suites within 15 thatched-roof bungalows. With a no-TVs policy, guests can immerse themselves in relaxation through kayaking, sailing, and snorkeling.
