Community sharing occurs after extended meditations, featuring tea and occasionally dinners or potlucks. Moreover, Thursday evenings feature dinner at various restaurants. Additional morning sits and half-day sits are also available, alongside one or two-day non-residential meditation retreats throughout the year. Members have the chance to join study groups and share experiences. All are welcome.

The Albuquerque Zen Center is situated in the university neighborhood, just south of the UNM campus. This center offers beginners’ instruction on Saturday mornings at 8:15 a.m., followed by two periods of Zazen and a Dharma talk at 11 a.m.

Albuquerque Zen Sangha

The Albuquerque Zen Sangha emphasizes meditation and the Dharma teachings of Zen master Phwa Sunim. The teacher, Alison Hudson, can be contacted at abqzen@yahoo.com. The Valley Dragon Zen Center is led by ordained Soto priests Taisin Joe Galewsky and Keizan Titus O’Brien.
