Friday-Sunday: 10am-10pm

Bonus Fun

The fair introduces “Magical Midway” hours, occurring from 2-11pm on Mondays and Thursdays, 11am-11pm on Tuesdays, and from Noon until 12am on Fridays through Sundays.

The fair box office operates on weekdays from 10:30am to 10pm, and from 9:30am to 10pm on weekends.

What to Bring

If visiting the fair with babies or young children, remember to pack snacks and water. Most of the activities at the California State Fair take place outdoors, and Sacramento’s temperatures can soar into the low 100s. To beat the heat, consider visiting in the evening when it is cooler and more pleasant. Additionally, carrying cash can be beneficial; parking costs $10 and you’ll want extra for food, souvenirs, and rides. While many vendors accept cards, handling cash can help manage your budget better.

Where to Go at the Fair

With so much to explore at the California State Fair, planning your visit can be challenging yet exciting. This year’s concert series features notable acts, including Rick Springfield on July 19 and Joan Jett and the Blackhearts on July 27. All concerts are complimentary with general fair admission and can be experienced at the Golden1 Stage.

Children will enjoy visiting the farmyard babies at The Farm, where they can interact and even feed the animals.

Moreover, on July 16, renowned skateboarder Tony Hawk will be performing at the Miller Lite Grandstand, and on July 13, there will be an attempt to break the world record for the largest cocktail.

To ease your way around the fairgrounds, hop on the free monorail located at the main gate, which connects you to rides, exhibits, and food kiosks. After a long day filled with fun, the monorail will be a welcome sight for tired feet and full hands.

In summary, attending the California State Fair is a delightful experience filled with discounts and an array of activities available over 17 incredible days. Gather your friends and family for a memorable outing!
