1. Overview of FlyAway Services
LAX FlyAway buses provide efficient point-to-point shuttle service designed specifically for passengers traveling with luggage. This service connects Los Angeles International Airport to six convenient locations in the city for a fixed fee.
2. Union Station
For visitors to Downtown Los Angeles or Pasadena, the Union Station FlyAway offers a reliable route directly to Union Station in downtown Los Angeles. From this central hub, travelers can easily access the Metro Gold Line to Pasadena or grab a cab to local Downtown hotels. The FlyAway service operates every 30 minutes, with an approximate travel time of 45 minutes. At LAX, buses are located on the Lower/Arrivals Level, clearly marked under the signs indicating “FlyAway, Buses and Long Distance Vans.” On return to LAX, passengers are dropped off at each departure terminal. At Union Station, the designated FlyAway stop is located on the Bus Plaza off Vignes, at the rear of the terminal.
3. Hollywood
The Hollywood FlyAway stop is situated on the south side of Hollywood Boulevard, just east of Argyle Avenue. This location is conveniently close to the Red Line Metro stop, as well as the W Hotel and Redbury Hotel. Travelers will find metered street spaces and nearby lots for vehicle drop-off, but overnight parking is not available. Shuttles depart hourly, starting at quarter past the hour, from both the Hollywood stop and LAX Terminal 1, with the first departure at 5:15 am. It is important to allow extra time for stops at the other six LAX terminals.
4. Santa Monica
The Santa Monica FlyAway stop is situated in front of the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium at 1875 Main Street. Like other stops, there is no designated overnight parking; however, curbside meters and Auditorium parking are available for drop-off. Buses leave Santa Monica and LAX at quarter to the hour, beginning at 5:45 am.
5. Van Nuys
The Van Nuys FlyAway provides shuttle service between Van Nuys Airport and LAX, departing from the same location as the Union Station FlyAway at LAX. At Van Nuys Airport, the FlyAway Terminal is conveniently located between the Long and Short Term parking lots on 7610 Woodley Avenue. This service runs 24 hours a day, with bus intervals varying from every 15 minutes to an hour based on the time of day. The estimated travel time can range from 35 to 60 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
6. Westwood/UCLA
FlyAway service also connects LAX to UCLA Parking Structure 32, positioned on the north side of Kinross Avenue, one block west of Gayley Avenue in Westwood. It is important to note that no overnight parking is available at this site during the week.
7. Long Beach
The most recent addition, the Long Beach FlyAway, transports travelers to and from the Long Beach Transit Center, located at the intersection of Long Beach Blvd and 1st Street—where the Metro Blue Line and various bus lines intersect. This stop is conveniently just a few blocks from the Long Beach Convention Center and several Downtown Long Beach hotels. Travel time is approximately 50 minutes, contingent on traffic. Service starts at both Long Beach and LAX at 5:30 am, running hourly until 9:30 pm from Long Beach and until 10:30 pm from LAX.
