Copenhagen Area: Amager Beach

If you prefer not to stray too far from the Danish capital, head to Amager Strandpark, located just outside Copenhagen. Public transportation offers three convenient stops along this beach (get off at Amager Strand Station), providing impressive views of the Oresund Bridge and the coast of Sweden. This beach features more than just sand; it includes dunes, toddler-friendly pools formed by an artificial island and lagoon, a promenade, and picnic areas. Thus, it’s perfect for an all-day outing and relaxation while enjoying the sophistication of Copenhagen.

Funen: Beaches at Middelfart Marina

Middelfart Marina is a popular beach destination for families on the Danish island of Funen. With great sand and stunning waters, the site also features a small shop and nearby car parking, as well as activities and a well-equipped playground for children. Conveniently located in the center of Denmark, this beach is easy to find: From Odense, take road E20 towards Middelfart/Kolding. From Kolding, head east on Road 161.

West Jutland: Nymindegab Strand and Henne Strand Beach

In the southwestern part of Jutland, near the city of Esbjerg, you can choose between two wonderful sandy beaches: Nymindegab Strand and Henne Strand. These popular Danish beaches are renowned for their high sand dunes and excellent waves from the North Sea. Simply drive towards Jutland’s west coast, and Road 181 will lead you to Nymindegab.

North Jutland: Bisnap Beach

Bisnap Beach, located near the northern end of Jutland outside the town of Hals, is remarkable for its sheer size. This Danish beach offers various activities for children, ample parking, and wheelchair accessibility via a dedicated path. Finding Hals is easy; it’s approximately 30 km (20 mi) east of Aalborg.

Southwest Zealand: Bildso Beach

If you are searching for a tranquil beach walk—just you, the sand, and the ocean—Bildso Beach may be the ideal spot for you. As one of the quieter and smaller beaches in Denmark, it showcases the lush greens and natural beauty characteristic of Zealand. This hidden gem is quite the travel secret, complete with convenient parking and a nearby small convenience store for snacks or drinks. To reach Bildso Beach, drive to the larger town of Slagelse, and from there, follow road 277 for 15 minutes.
