Margarita Lovers Unite: Celebrate National Margarita Day in DFW!
Here in DFW, we love margaritas. And patios. Moreover, enjoying margaritas on patios enhances the experience. Thankfully, there is a holiday to celebrate the frozen concoction that brings joy to many. Yes, lovers of all things tequila, National Margarita Day is a real celebration, and it falls on February 22, 2015. It is the perfect occasion to raise a salt-rimmed glass and enjoy at a DFW Mexican restaurant or your favorite cantina.
It was a fun assignment to research the top margarita spots in the area; I genuinely enjoyed the task. With countless specialty margarita recipes available, there’s an impressive array of flavors, sizes, and styles—frozen or on the rocks. Count on tequila, ice, lime juice, and a salty rim to elevate any moment.
Mariano’s / La Hacienda Ranch
In 1971, Mariano Martinez invented the first margarita machine to keep up with customer demand for frozen drinks. Nowadays, you can enjoy Margarita Mondays at the restaurants with half-priced margaritas all day long, making it a fantastic destination for margarita enthusiasts.
Gloria’s
If you’re looking for some of the best frozen margaritas in town, Gloria’s is a top contender. Their lovely patios make it an even better option for an icy drink on a warm day. Visit any location throughout the DFW area on National Margarita Day to see if you agree.
Mi Cocina / Taco Diner
The Mambo Taxi is a legendary drink at both Mi Cocina and Taco Diner. Despite varying opinions on its consistency over the years, this classic margarita remains a staple beverage worth ordering.
Cristina’s
Cristina’s features innovative margaritas, including the Skinny Margarita for calorie-conscious patrons and the delicious Blackberry Mint Margarita, which balances sweet and tart perfectly. Various locations throughout DFW offer these delightful concoctions.
Joe T. Garcia’s
Joe T. Garcia’s in Fort Worth boasts the largest and best margarita-drinking patio in DFW. Customers rave about their frozen margaritas, while the on-the-rocks option is equally refreshing. Remember to bring cash, as credit cards aren’t accepted here—convenience ATMs are available on-site.
Blue Mesa Grill
One of my favorite margaritas is the Classic Blue Signature Margarita from Blue Mesa Grill, available frozen or on the rocks, and made with fresh lime juice. With a happy hour price of $4, this nostalgic drink is a fantastic choice.
Mattito’s
Mattito’s is known for its vibrant atmosphere and delicious margaritas. It’s a popular choice for gathering with friends and family, offering a lively patio experience in the heart of DFW.
Javier’s
At Javier’s, patrons enjoy both delectable margaritas and a unique ambiance found in their Cigar Bar/Lounge. It’s a wonderful spot for those seeking a relaxed and enjoyable evening.
Mesa Veracruz
If you enjoy cocktails with a kick, Mesa Veracruz is a must-visit. Their serrano-infused tequila adds a spicy twist to traditional margaritas, providing a flavor explosion that you can’t resist.
Wild Salsa
Another favorite on my list is Wild Salsa. Their unique margaritas bring a refreshing experience, perfect for enjoying under the summer sun.
