Features

The suitcase features two clasps that can be secured with a simple key attached to the strap handle. You’ll likely need to assist your child when opening the case, which is beneficial in order to prevent accidental spills in busy locations such as the airport.

There’s also an elastic ‘teddy bear seat belt’ designed to keep items secure on one side, with a soft rubber seal ensuring safe closure without pinching fingers.

Once closed, the suitcase features sturdy ‘horns’ for holding on when riding, coupled with an ergonomically molded saddle shape that prevents sliding. Young children can easily maneuver themselves with minimal effort.

A detachable strap with a loop handle can be connected for easy pulling or worn over the shoulder. We’ve experienced no issues with the strap detaching while pulling or carrying.

Additionally, short handles are available for a quick grab when necessary.

An ID label on the strap handle is helpful for identifying the suitcase, especially in crowded areas like airports, where similar cases abound.

About Trunki

Rob Law conceived the idea of the ride-on suitcase in 1996 and presented it on the BBC TV show, Dragon’s Den, where entrepreneurs pitch their innovations to potential investors. Although Trunki was initially declined for funding, Rob’s realization of its value paved the way for its eventual success. The Trunki suitcase is today recognized as a notable achievement in children’s travel gear.

Less Frustration

Children appreciate having some autonomy, and traveling can often disrupt familiar routines, creating challenges. However, they crave responsibility, even during holidays.

While small pull-along cases may seem practical at home, it’s likely that kids will eventually tire of it, leaving parents to carry it. Moreover, the handles are typically not designed for adult comfort.

Trunki designers recognized that children are more content when they can play with friends, and a Trunki case serves as a playful companion during travels. It provides a ride-on experience while waiting in queues at airports or stations. Consequently, when kids feel fatigued—particularly after a flight—you can conveniently pull them along while seated, ensuring they remain with their belongings, making the experience enjoyable and minimizing complaints.
