The Brooklyn Children’s Museum has maintained its position as a pioneer since its establishment in 1899. As the first museum of its nature, it has inspired the development of over 300 children’s museums globally.

This museum primarily caters to preschool and early elementary school students, who are likely to appreciate the imaginative and interactive exhibits available. The Totally Tots area features sand and water play stations, a climbing structure, a reading nook, dress-up opportunities, and more for guests under the age of five. World Brooklyn showcases scaled-down neighborhood shops, including a bakery, grocery store, and pizza outlet, providing children with a playful yet educational experience. Moreover, kids can engage with real and model animals in the dynamic Neighborhood Nature exhibit.

Visitors can participate in daily activities such as arts and crafts, performances, and animal interactions, all of which are included in the admission fee.

Key Information Regarding the Brooklyn Children’s Museum:

  • Coat check is available at no charge.
  • The museum frequently accommodates school and camp groups; however, these groups typically depart by lunchtime. The Totally Tots area remains a suitable refuge during peak visitation periods, as it does not host group activities.
  • Guests are welcome to bring their own meals to enjoy in the café, which is consistently maintained to high cleanliness standards. There are vending machines available, and the café offers a selection of simple drinks, snacks, and meals, including various healthy options and Kosher items.
