Outdoor Activities in Singapore
There is so much more to do than just shopping and nightlife in Singapore. In fact, there are numerous outdoor activities in Singapore, offering a myriad of adventures waiting to be explored!
Here are some ideas for you to plan your outdoor adventure when visiting this tiny country that packs a punch.
Outdoor Activities in Singapore
1. Wake Boarding
Not only is it popular to head out to a reservoir and hire a boat, but there is also a Cable Ski Park. This activity is an excellent way to learn tricks on a board while being pulled around a lagoon on a cable.
Moreover, it is more economical than renting a boat and accommodates up to eight riders on the cable at one time, ensuring plenty of water time for everyone.
2. Rock Climbing
Who knew? Singapore boasts fantastic rock climbing opportunities at the old Bukit Timah Quarries. There are nearly 50 routes available, ranging from easy 5.7’s to challenging 5.12 b routes.
Rock climbing has become increasingly popular in Singapore despite being a relatively new activity.
3. Paragliding in Singapore
A recent addition to adventure travel in Singapore, paragliding could become a leading adrenaline activity.
Having experienced it in Peru and New Zealand, we never considered it over a city, yet Singapore might just be perfect for us to give it a try!
4. Ziplining in Singapore
Mega Zip Adventure Park provides outdoor activities that keep the adrenaline pumping throughout the day.
This park offers a zip line over the lush jungle canopy, a high rope obstacle course, a mini bungee jump, and a rock climbing wall. While it is family-friendly, everyone is sure to have fun!
I have been hesitant about bungee jumps in the past, but I think I could muster the courage to try the 50-foot jump at Mega Zip.
5. Mount Faber Park
We were fortunate to visit this beautiful park. Our friend Gilbert took us to Mount Faber for its spectacular city views.
This 9-km expanse is lush with plant life. Trails weave through the forest, and it features the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, offering breathtaking views.
6. Zorbing
This exhilarating activity is not just limited to New Zealand anymore.
The inflatable ball that rolls down a grassy hill has made its way to Singapore, and we can’t wait to give it a try. For more information and fun activities, you can visit ZOBVB Singapore.
7. HSBC Tree Top Walk
A rainforest wouldn’t be complete without a canopy walk, and Singapore has one located in MacRitchie Reservoir. This suspension bridge stretches 250 meters long, and the hike through the rainforest is nearly 10 km.
You may even catch sight of some monkeys and exotic birds along the way!
8. Bukit Timah Nature Reserve
Spanning 7500 acres, the Bukit Timah Nature Reserve stands as Singapore’s oldest rainforest.
Home to over 500 species of animals and numerous plants, it serves as a peaceful escape from the city. Notably, they limit group sizes to minimize noise and visitor impact.
Most trails are easy, making hiking in this beautiful rainforest a delightful experience.
9. Beach Life
East Coast Park offers a glorious 7.5 km stretch of sand and sun.
In addition to relaxing on the beach, visitors can enjoy various water sports, bicycle trails, and running tracks, ensuring a perfect day outdoors.
10. Parasailing in Singapore
Currently, there seems to be no parasailing options available in Singapore, but that may change in the future!
