Be prepared though; if you only have three days in New Orleans, you won’t be sleeping much. There’s too much excitement to spend a lot of time in the hotel. But don’t worry, our NOLA itinerary will help you make the most of your time.
Day 1 – Tour the French Quarter
New Orleans’ French Quarter is famous for the lively atmosphere on Bourbon Street, yet the Quarter itself offers numerous attractions to explore. This is a place to wander and discover for at least a day.
The oldest section of the city, the French Quarter, dates back 300 years and has been the heart of New Orleans since its establishment. Let’s take a look at what you can experience in the French Quarter.
Jackson Square for Sunrise
The French Quarter can get very busy, so it is advisable to rise early. We enjoyed wandering the streets, devoid of tourists, before the bustling crowds arrived. Begin your day at Jackson Square to get a glimpse of the stunning St. Louis Cathedral.
Breakfast at Cafe Du Monde
Cafe Du Monde is the ideal start to your New Orleans itinerary. A breakfast staple located in the French Market, Cafe du Monde is renowned for its delicious beignets. Established in 1862, it operates 24 hours a day.
Trying a beignet in NOLA is a must. These delectable fried pastries, dusted with powdered sugar, provide the energy needed for a day of sightseeing. Pair it with a coffee and explore the bustling French Market afterward.
