Puyung Beach

Puyung Beach is the third in a series of three beaches, each separated by hills that must be traversed. The beaches are:

  • 1. Crystal Beach
  • 2. Pandan Beach
  • 3. Puyung Beach

This means you will initially pass through Crystal and Pandan Beaches to reach Puyung. Remarkably, Puyung remains a concealed beach even in 2024. During my visit, there were over 100 people at Crystal Bay, a few at Pandan, yet none at Puyung. Consequently, if you manage to locate it, the beach could be entirely yours!

Furthermore, I am captivated by the white sand and the towering rock walls at Puyung, making it a truly stunning locale. However, this beach is unlikely to remain unknown for long, so seize the opportunity while you can!

Entrance Fees

As of 2024, visiting Puyung Beach is completely free, with no entry fees required.

How To Get To Puyung Beach

Puyung Beach is located on the western side of Nusa Penida island. You can access it on foot from Crystal Bay, which is reachable by car or scooter, subject to a small parking fee.

To get there, walk south along Crystal Bay until you reach the beach’s end. There, you will discover a hidden path through the trees. Follow this trail over the hill for about 20-30 minutes, and you will reach Pandan Beach.

Continue to the southern edge of Pandan Beach, where you will find another concealed entrance amid the trees. This entrance can be a little challenging to spot due to its hidden location in the foliage.

Where We Stayed

During our visit, we stayed at Saren Villa on the north coast of Nusa Penida, where we paid 240k Rupiah ($15 USD) for a private double room equipped with cold A/C, a hot shower, and strong WiFi. This option is among the most affordable in Penida, conveniently located near popular restaurants.

However, prices may vary, so it is advisable to keep an eye out for the best deals.
