Discover Layana Waterfall and Dining at Warung in Ubud, Bali

One of the easiest waterfalls to visit in Bali is probably the Layana waterfall, located just east of Ubud. This stunning two-step waterfall can be admired without the need for hiking or paying an entrance fee. In fact, it is conveniently situated next to a warung (a small food shack), where visitors can purchase food or drinks while relaxing in a hut above the falls.

Expecting to be charged a fee for visiting this Ubud waterfall, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was free. I have yet to try the food at the warung, but I have no doubt it is delicious. Perhaps that will be on my agenda for next time!

Entrance Fees

The entrance is FREE as of 2024, with no fees for parking or visiting the waterfall. There is no obligation to purchase anything at the restaurant, although doing so would certainly be appreciated.

How To Get To Layana Waterfall

To reach the waterfall, head directly behind Layana Warung, which is located just east of Ubud. The best approach is to rent a scooter or hire a private car and driver, both options conveniently available online.

From the restaurant parking area, it’s merely a 30-yard walk to the waterfall. However, be cautious, as the path can be somewhat muddy and slippery near the bottom.

Bali Private Driver & Motorbike Rental

Exploring Bali with the comfort and safety of a private car driven by an English-speaking driver is a fantastic choice. My recommended provider is GetYourGuide.

Prices for their services start at 700k Rupiah (~$48 USD) for a full day of driving and sightseeing in Bali (up to 10 hours) accommodating 1-5 passengers. This price includes the vehicle, driver, and petrol, making it a budget-friendly option. Additionally, they offer reasonable hotel transfer services from the airport.

If you prefer traveling by motorbike, they also provide that service. Their scooter rentals begin at 140k Rupiah (~$9) and include a helmet, raincoat, and free delivery in the southern Bali area.

We’ve utilized GetYourGuide for various tours and activities globally, and they’ve consistently provided great experiences. Highly recommended!
