5 Unhealthy Habits I Need to Change

As we enter the New Year, I wish to share more personal insights on this platform, beginning with divulging some of my less favorable habits.

Let us proceed with “small steps” as we explore my five less favorable habits:

1.) I frequently search for movie details online

When I discover a film that piques my interest, I tend to inadvertently spoil the storyline for myself by browsing Wikipedia for information about it, often leading to a comprehensive read of the entire entry.

This occurrence is generally unintentional; thus, I often find myself genuinely disheartened upon learning key plot points.

2.) I frequently consume popcorn for breakfast

This delightful snack often makes an appearance during lunch and dinner as well!

From my perspective, particularly at breakfast, it is akin to indulging in cornflakes. Wouldn’t you agree?

3.) I engage in off-key singing regularly

This habit usually begins as soon as I awaken, frequently without my awareness.

Although I consider this a joy when I am alone, it may become bothersome to others sharing the same space who are not early risers.

4.) I commit to various TV shows

Regardless of the show’s quality, once I watch an episode, I am likely to view the entire series. I once stumbled upon an engaging episode of Gossip Girl, leading me to binge-watch all six seasons—a considerable investment of time that I missed profoundly once completed. I have also viewed every installment of True Blood, even during its later decline in quality.

5.) My knowledge of expletives is quite limited

For a considerable duration, I was aware of a particular expletive (which I shall refrain from mentioning here) without understanding its implications or true meaning.

I assumed it was a playful comment directed at someone fondly, similar to how one might refer to a clumsy puppy as a “Silly billy” during a chuckle. I later erred by uttering this term during a formal dinner upon someone sharing a foolish tale—they found it amusing, and I subsequently learned what that word actually signified. This incident has left me feeling rather awkward whenever I encounter that individual.
